this is my third blog and i want to share my experiences as a placement cell member...

Day 1 (13-sep-2012)
I got selected as a member from S5, CS-B... Rijin come up as other side... So, we two are representatives from our class. The feeling was really cool, and we were ready to take the load...

Day 2 (14-sep-2012)
14th sep is my birthday,,, i was really glad to work in placement cell for the first time on the day... TCS was coming for recruitment... So, we all reached NLB at 8:00 in the morning as told by our Head Mr. George Methew... We once again verified the arrangements and waited for the TCS people to come,,, HRs(people from department-Human Resource) were coming by 9:30am and we made them sit in seminar hall(NLB). By 10:30am we took them to the top floor(NLB) were 36 panels(6 classes with 6 panels in each) were made for interviews... The time was really high for our seniors. They all were waiting for their turns to come... Some were confident, some were nervous... 80 were directly eligible(average 75% plus)  for the interview, so they sat in one of the remaining two classrooms on the top floor itself... Others have to qualify an online test as their first phase...

Now, the online test:
-The test was a general, aptitude type
-total 80 mins for 30 Qs
-cutoff was 15 correct Qs
-negative marking was there

The INTERVIEW:
-three phases
    1-Technical round - technical Qs like C program or from subjects of interest.
    2-Manager round - checking management skills, tell one situation and will ask u to handle ur way.
    3-HR round - communicate with u to check ur communication skills, subject of communication was quit random. It may vary from ur hobbies to which mobile u r using.

Today we had a meeting in placement cell... Sir, informed about Wipro coming on 18-19...
Plans are like this,
-ppt(pre-placement talk) in SMS auditorium at 9:00am on 18th
-then online test on 18th- venue-NLB Labs and MCA Lab(Old SOE)
-then interviews on 18th evening and 19th- venue-NLB, top floor...

Today i am having my lab, so not going into placement cell duty... Today, Wipro is conducting on-line test for eligible students...

Now the on-line test of Wipro:
-consists of 75 questions
-total time 86 mins
-25 coding questions out of total 75 for CS and IT students only

Today also  i am having lab, so didnt get chance to see the Wipro interviews... :( ... but my friends told me, it was all same as that in TCS...
